Every free UK payslip site logs an NI number, an employer name, a sort code, an HMRC tax code, and a take-home figure — then sells that profile to whoever pays for it. Every “free” rent receipt page names the landlord, the address, the monthly rent. Every free VAT invoice tool sees the VAT number, the customer details, the sterling totals. The “free” is paid by you, in pieces you didn’t know you handed over.
This was never sustainable. It was just what got built.
